Sarah Morrison has been training in dance all her life. Growing up in Atlanta, Sarah studied and performed with Lee Harper & Dancers. Later, she came to Cleveland to study at Case Western Reserve University.
While at Case Western Reserve University, Sarah earned the Creative Achievement Award Scholarship for choreography, the Lily Dreyfus Memorial Award for excellence in dance and the Eva L. Pancoast Memorial Fellowship. She performed in numerous concerts with the university's Theater Arts Department and Florence Mustric's Music at the Market.
In 1996, Sarah graduated from Case Western Reserve University's Integrated Graduate Studies program with a bachelor's of arts degree in theater arts (dance concentration) and a master's of arts degree in psychology.
Since graduating, Sarah has performed with the Repertory Project, the CSU Dance Company, Food for Thought and Young Park's SAFMOD.
Sarah's choreography has been seen in concerts at the Arts Festival in Castiglioncello, Italy; the High Museum Arts Festival and the Festival of Trees in Atlanta; the Laban Centre in London; and other venues across the united States and Europe. Sarah has self-produced several concerts including Just Us (1992) held at the Kellet Theater in Atlanta and Collections (1996) held at the Mather Dance Center in Cleveland.
Sarah says inspiration for her work comes from anything and everything. She says she is as easily inspired by a subway ride as a visit to an ancient Etruscan tomb. However, she admits, it was her exposure to communications technology as a student and researcher at Case Western Reserve University that inspired her to combine technology and dance for Leaping Into the NET!
Sarah resides in Cleveland where she works at Case Western Reserve University assisting in the creation of images for research projects designed to study vision changes in the aged and patients with Alzheimer's disease.
