MAD MASK MAKER OF MAIGH EO - sponsorship information We have undertaken the exhilarating and highly challenging task of creating and producing a new play. The production is a creative collaboration between playwright/director Christopher Johnston and dancer/choreographer Sarah Morrison and MorrisonDance Company. Our co-producer is the region's premier host of original and thought-provoking works, Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT). Entitled The Mad Mask Maker of Maigh Eo, the play is written in the style of a classical Irish theater piece, and it is modeled in structure after several plays written by famed Irish writer William Butler Yeats that were called his dance plays. Essentially, it is a dramatic play that incorporates dance,and masks created by Scott Radke. The Mad Mask Maker of Maigh Eo will be performed at CPT March 2-5 and March 9-12, 2006. In recognition of today's financially challenging arts environment, MorrisonDance is committed to raising the remaining funds needed to support the production. Our present goal is to raise the final $5,000.00 of the total $23,000.00 budget to accommodate the salaries and production requirements of the play. We also fully expect that this play will have life after the CPT production, and we plan to take it to other cities and perhaps even to Ireland.
